Judge John Deed Overrules Big Brother Eviction

Judge John Deed Rula Lenska’s departure from the Big Brother house on Friday saw the station achieve the highest 16-34 audience of the evening, but was topped by BBC One’s Judge John Deed in the battle for adult audiences.

The 9pm eviction show saw 1.9 million 16-34 year olds tune in to see the 57 year old actress leave the Big Brother compound, an audience approached only by ITV’s Coronation Street earlier in the evening, with an average audience of 1.8 million 16-34 year olds.

Amongst adult viewers, Big Brother notched up an average audience of 4.3 million to conquer all rivals, with the exception of BBC One’s Judge John Deed, which attracted 6.2 million on average with the first in a new series.

Elsewhere, ITV scored third place in prime time, with 4.1 million adults tuning in to A Touch Of Frost on average.

Five saw its highest audience of the evening with 9pm film, Jackie Chan’s Police Story, drawing 702,000 adult viewers on average and suffering heavily from competition with BBC One, ITV and Channel 4.
