Kiss 100 Launches Talent Hunting Podcast

Kiss Emap owned Kiss 100, has announced plans to launch a unique podcast to showcase new unsigned UK musical talent, with the show downloadable from the Kiss website or via iTunes.

Andrew Jeffries, Kiss 100 programme director explained: “the aim of the podcast is to champion new music and to give unsigned talent a shop window to reach label bosses and talent scouts.”

He continued: “The kiss podcast unsigned reflects the breadth and depth of both the Kiss 100 playlist and of the vast untapped talent making music across the UK.”

Earlier this year, Kiss appointed former brand marketing director of Chrysalis Radio’s Galaxy Network, Nick Button, as its new marketing director.

Button took up the newly-created position in January, overseeing all of Emap’s Kiss marketing, creative and brand strategy planning, initially focusing on the London-based Kiss 100 before developing the network as a whole.

Elsewhere, free London newspaper City AM jumped on the podcast bandwagon, announcing plans to launch an afternoon podcast targeted commuters with the latest financial news on their journey home from work (see City AM Targets Commuters With Afternoon Podcast).

Available every weekday from 5pm, the five-minute bulletin will summarise the day’s city news, as well as providing a preview of the next day’s paper.
