Louise Mensch launches Twitter rival

Conservative MP Louise Mensch has launched a micro-blogging site similar to Twitter.

Menshn aims to keep conversations on topic and will allow 180 characters per post, compared to Twitter’s 140.

The site, which is co-owned with ex-Labour digital adviser Luke Bozier, is currently available in the US but is set to launch in the UK before the Olympics next month.
