London’s Magic 105.4 has signed an exclusive partnership with George Michael to celebrate his landmark Wembley concerts.
The singer with the voice like melted chocolate will be the first artist to play at the rebuilt iconic stadium, and Magic 105.4 is the official radio partner.
Magic will be running exclusive ticket giveaways from June 4, with pairs of tickets up for grabs on the hour, every hour from 7am to 6pm.
Magic will also be giving away ‘money can’t buy’ VIP tickets in Neil Fox’s More Music Breakfast Show, with listeners having to guess the missing lyric from a George Michael song.
To support the exclusive promotion, Magic is launching an advertising campaign to run throughout the on-air activity. The creative shows George in mid-song and will run on bus sides throughout London.
Nicola Thomson, marketing director, Magic 105.4, said: “George Michael is a great fan of Magic and we are a great fan of his, so it’s only right that Magic is the exclusive radio partner for his forthcoming Wembley concerts.
“Our listeners have made us number one commercial station in London, so we are delighted to be able to offer them this exclusive chance to see George, as our way of saying thank you.”
The creative is by St Luke’s and the media bought by Starcom.
At the last RAJARs, Magic 105.4 had the highest weekly reach of the main London stations, despite a year on year dip of more than 3% (see Magic FM Boasts Biggest Weekly Reach In London). The station had a weekly reach of around 1.8 million for Q1.
