Maiden Bolsters Sales Team Following Account Wins

Outdoor advertising contractor Maiden has announced the promotion of Philip Miles to the role of group sales director in a move that reflects continued growth at the company following two significant account wins.

The new role will see Miles, who has been national sales director for the last seven years, assume responsibility for all UK sales activity across the Maiden Group, including its National, Regional, Supersigns and Promorail divisions.

The appointment is the first to be made since Maiden secured two major deals to provide advertising at 17 Network Rail stations across the UK. It is expected that around 20 new positions will be created across all sales areas as new products and services are developed as a result of the new contracts (see Maiden Clinches £477 Million Rail Contracts).

Commenting on the appointment, Maiden Group’s managing director, David Pugh, said: “The award of a ten-year contract with Network Rail gives Maiden a firm foundation for further investment in our business. We shall be developing new products and services for our customers as a direct result of this win, but our investment starts with people.

He added: “Philip has proved himself as a leader in his role as national sales director over the last two years: and he will now be the architect of our growing sales team as we expand rapidly over the next few months.”

The new rail contracts will provide a much needed boost to Maiden, which has recently lost a number of lucrative advertising tenders to rival Viacom Outdoor. However, the company recently announced that they year had started strongly with record sales in the first quarter (see Maiden Sees Improving Outdoor Advertising Market).
