The Mail on Sunday is set to undergo a major editorial overhaul this week in a bid to boost circulation figures and ad revenue.
The paper’s revamp will see a new Sport on Sunday pull-out, which will replace the football section, and an increase in the page size and pagination of its men’s magazine Live.
The title’s travel coverage will also move from the The Mail on Sunday 2 section into the main paper, which will allow the supplement to expand its arts coverage, according to reports.
A television ad campaign with the strapline “It’s what’s inside that matters” will support the relaunch.
In the latest ABC report, for November 2009, The Mail on Sunday posted a 2.1% period on period decline but still retained a healthy circulation of more than 2 million copies – well ahead of most other Sunday titles.
