Maxim Now Largest Men’s Mobile Brand

Maxim Mobile content specialist Mowave has established Dennis Publishing’s Maxim Mobile as the worlds most widely distributed men’s lifestyle brand via mobile phones, with the service now available on over 28 operators worldwide.

The Maxim Mobile site provides a wide range of men’s editorial content on a subscription basis, as well as offering downloadable items such as ringtones, wallpaper, videos, games, promotions and a variety of Maxim-only wireless applications.

Commenting on the success of the initiative, Giles Richter, chief executive officer of Mowave said: “Maxim Mobile has seen tremendous growth since launching in the summer of 2004. It’s a tribute to the strength of Maxim‘s global brand appeal and its unique content mix.”

He added: “I know of no other magazine brand that has penetrated both print and mobile across so many diverse territories, both on the major operator portals and out in the open-WAP environment, and that is accessible in multiple languages around the world.”

Maxim Mobile began in 2003, launching through Vodafone’s Live! portal. Last year, Maxim announced a partnership with Vodafone to provide content to its operations in 30 countries world-wide (see Maxim Extends Mobile Site Worldwide With Vodafone Deal).

The deal built on the success of the Maxim Mobile via Vodafone Live!, working in conjunction with Dutch technical partner Mobile Media International to roll out to ten countries including France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Australia and Sweden.
