Media Playground: ITV Player to appear on connected TVs

Speaking at MediaTel Group’s Media Playground event, Stephen Poole, multi-platform group sales controller at ITV, said the broadcaster is looking to add ITV Player on to smart and connected TVs.

He was asked the question directly by fellow panellist Nigel Walley, managing director of Decipher, during the first session in today’s conference. Poole replied that they are looking into it at the moment.

Channel 4 are also reportedly looking to include its 4oD product directly onto connected TVs, putting the VOD services alongside iPlayer, which is already present on some later connected models.
