Mediatel Connected launches – find out what’s new

To reflect the changes to the way customers work and to improve the user experience, Mediatel has this week merged its core media planning products – Mediatel.co.uk and Connected Consumer – into one platform: Mediatel Connected.

As it becomes increasingly difficult for the industry to keep track of all the data now available, it is Mediatel Connected’s aim to make it simple by aggregating dozens of media research data sources into one, easily accessible place alongside information sourced directly from thousands of media properties.

Established in 1982, Mediatel provides the tools to plan media, analyse trends and make fully informed decisions quickly and easily. Used by thousands of media professionals, subscribers include almost all the UK’s top 50 media agencies alongside media owners, advertisers, analysts, PR, auditors, management consultants and universities.

For launch week, all subscribers will have free access to all six modules to give customers time to explore everything available.”

As part of the new launch, MediaTel.co.uk subscribers will still have access to all the content they currently have, but will access it slightly differently. The existing eight MediaTel.co.uk media sections now sit in four new modules: Display (Press & Online); Media Landscape; Regional (Regional & Out of Home) and AV (TV, Channel Search, Sponsorship, Radio and Cinema).

Meanwhile, subscribers to Connected Consumer will access their content via two additional modules: Connected AV and Connected Surveys.

For Mediatel Connected’s launch week, all subscribers will have full access to all six modules to give customers time to explore everything available. This includes the brand new, unique, proprietary Connected Screens Tracker within Connected Surveys and new Kantar Media Twitter TV Ratings within Connected AV.

Listening to our customers, we have embarked on the next phase of Mediatel’s development.”

Additional new features include a new Chart of the Day on Newsline, improved log-in, and a business-wide rebrand.

Commenting on the changes, Julie MacManus, head of Mediatel Connected, said: “Listening to our customers, we have embarked on the next phase of Mediatel’s development.

“By merging our planning tools into one product, we’re mirroring the wider changes to the media industry and making it easier for users to make the right decisions. We welcome all feedback and look forward to helping our customers make the most of what we offer.”

New Connected Screens Survey

Customers that subscribe to Connected Surveys will now have access to Mediatel’s new and proprietary Connected Screens Tracker.

Published three times a year, the tracker will provide consumer-centric data around how the adoption of screens and platform technologies is disrupting media consumption (or not).

Uniquely, the tracker, run in partnership with Videology, will encompass the whole continuum of screens: Digital outdoor screens; television screens; PCs, Macs, laptop screens; tablets and smartphones.

Additionally, analysis of the Connected Screens Tracker by the highly regarded Richard Marks of Research the Media will be available to purchase from Connected Surveys: Analysis.
