Mediatel Connected launches new mapping tool

Today sees the launch of Mediatel’s newly developed Mapping section within the Regional module of Mediatel Connected.

Building its foundation on some of the well-used and loved elements of the old mapping service, we have been consulting with clients over the past year to find out exactly what was needed in a newly developed tool.

New Mapping takes all these learnings and foundations forward, providing many new features and clever reporting functionality for all Regional subscribers of Mediatel Connected.

At the recent Mapping Preview Party, Julie MacManus, Head of Mediatel Connected, presented to the room some of these easy to use features, whilst the Mediatel helpdesk and development team were on hand to do further demonstrations for clients. Feedback was positive:

“The new mapping system allows me to show clients we work with an immediate visual of what they have booked,” said Rebecca Webb, media assistant, Carat Media. “It allows me to work independently rather than relying on the teams and the media owners for maps and regional insight.”

Features include:

Hotspot census data by index – Begin your regional planning with an audience, identify the postcode areas where you are most likely to reach them and you can examine the population and media in those areas.

New reporting – Reports provide an overview of the population so you can provide your clients with a real depth of insight into the areas that you’re using, showing how your area differs from the UK as a whole. And an instant PDF download, if required.

Media layers – Map ALL local and regional media including key industry areas – newspapers, magazines, radio stations, radio groups, poster sites and cinemas.

Compatibility across modules – Mapping is now compatible with other Mediatel Connected modules, allowing analysis to be seamlessly transferred from one module to another.

Improved user experience – easy to navigate, available through any internet browser and no plug-ins required.

Old and new mapping will be running concurrently for the remainder of the year, with new mapping taking over from January 2017 – if you want to keep any point layers and catchment areas we can help you move them across in advance of the switch off.

The helpdesk is on hand for any queries, or you can book a full training session for your team, as well as attend any weekly Regional Webex drop-in sessions, which are available between now and the end of the year.
