MegaPoster Boosts Portfolio By 20% With New Sites

Giant poster operator MegaPoster has increased its offering to advertisers by 20%, adding seven new sites to its portfolio in an effort to attract more diverse clients.

The new sites in Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Glasgow and Liverpool bring the number of sites operated by the company to 31, each with specific properties and audiences.

Commenting on the new locations Ian Bohn, sales and marketing director at MegaPoster said: “We are very insistent that we only want sites in good city locations which advertisers can use to target the particular audiences they want to reach.”

He added: “To be able to add six such high quality sites at the same time is a coup, and very timely, as all the indications are that the banner market is picking up momentum into the summer and is now likely to beat last year’s record total.”

Outdoor advertising is currently performing well and the latest figures from the Outdoor Advertising Association reveal good results for the first quarter of 2004. According to the OAA, outdoor advertising continued its recent growth spurt with revenue increasing by a solid 9.1% year on year to more than £184.5 million (see Outdoor Advertising Continues To See Revenue Rise).

New developments such as heavyweight in-store television networks also look likely to boost the sector’s revenue, with the recently launched Tesco TV claiming to reach an audience of 10 million consumers every week (see JCDecaux Secures Nationwide Tesco TV Contract).
