MegaPoster Launches Christmas Retail Pack

MegaPoster has launched a unique package of giant banner sites designed to provide advertisers with maximum exposure in the all-important pre-Christmas period.

The eight-site Christmas Retail Pack, which is thought to be the first of its kind, groups together a number of high-profile retail banner locations in the centres of key cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Bristol and Brighton.

MegaPoster claims the 6-sheet market is virtually sold out for November and December making it difficult to gain an outdoor presence in the main retail centres. The new package is designed to play an important role in delivering a high level of impact to advertisers keen to reach a huge volume of shoppers in this crucial trading season.

It is expected that the package will be of special interest to retailers and all gift categories, such as fragrances, mobile phones, toys, and fashion. The city centre locations are also designed to appeal to drinks brands in the party season.

Commenting on the initiative, Ian Bohn, sales and marketing director of MegaPoster, said: “Getting through to shoppers on the streets before Christmas is becoming increasingly difficult. Megaposters offer a powerful way to cut through the clutter and guarantee high impact exposure for seasonal brands.”

Earlier this month MegaPoster was selected by the British Heart Foundation to carry the outdoor executions of its controversial anti-smoking campaign, dominating the outdoor advertising market in six major cities. The sites have been selected for their proximity to restaurants, bars and clubs, targeting smokers directly during their leisure time (see MegaPoster To Carry Controversial Anti-Smoking Campaign).

Outdoor advertising has been in rude health recently and the latest figures from the Advertising Association suggest the medium will enjoy a bumper year in 2005 with adspend expected to rise by a solid 6.9% as online retail, property and household brands continue to invest heavily in the sector (see UK Adspend Expected To Grow By 4.4% Next Year).
