Microsoft has released a statement confirming it is willing to renew a deal with Yahoo! if it replaces its board of directors at its annual meeting next month.
The software giant has reinstated its interest in acquiring Yahoo!, saying: “Microsoft would be interested in discussing with a new board a major transaction with Yahoo!, such as either a transaction to purchase the ‘search’ function with large financial guarantees or, in the alterative, purchasing the whole company.”
This comes just a month after Yahoo! reportedly ended all merger talks with Microsoft (see Yahoo! Signs Search Ad Deal With Google) after Microsoft said it had no interest in buying the company outright.
