MSN Launches Christmas Ad Campaign

MSN has launched an advertising campaign to promote Christmas shopping which includes new online features, special offers and discounts
The new promotion is based around the theme of “gift inspiration” and includes the creation of mini e-shops, which will feature across the MSN network, encouraging users to ‘click to buy.’ MSN has secured new advertising deals with PC World, Dell and Techibo to support the initial campaign.
Robin Kellett, MSN shopping business manager, commented: “Our past and continued success with MSN Shopping has led to strong partner signings. We are predicting that the increased number of brands will lead to doubled unique visitor numbers this festive season.”
MSN has built profiles of family members, enabling consumers to search for Christmas gifts using specially created categories such as ‘dynamite dad’. Users will also be able to chat online with shopping assistants and search consumer reviews of items purchased. There will also be a new dedicated shopping search engine.
Kellett added: “Loyalty-based exclusive offers and advanced integration with key MSN services such as Hotmail, make MSN shopping rival real world shopping destinations.”
Earlier this month, internet search engines, Freeserve and AltaVista redesigned their home pages and reduced the number of pop-up ads on their sites in a bid to increase usage (see Freeserve And Alta Vista Cut Back On Pop-Ups).
