A US-based teen-only social network is set to launch in the UK, according to reports.
Yoursphere.co.uk will run on a subscription model, which will enable it remain free of direct advertising, although the network is currently looking at potential partnerships with brands to support youth programmes.
The site has been developed to operate within measures outlined by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, with direct links to ChildLine, so that young users can protect themselves while using the network.
Users will pay £27.50 per year to use the site and will be able to build their own ‘spheres’, stating their interests and hobbies.
The site has also developed youth programmes for users under 18, in order to inform them on educational opportunities such as internships.
