Regional newspaper publisher Newsquest Media Group has relaunched its network of 150 regional websites, improving site navigation and improving search functionality.
It has also added a digital archive of more than 4 million articles going back ten years.
Nigel Vincent, head of online editorial development at Newsquest, said: “This latest release marks the completion of a series of major improvements to our local site network.
“We’re working hard to keep visitors online for longer and have focused on helping them discover more local content by leading them through the best of editorial and classifieds, pointing them towards related articles and showcasing our multi-platform approach.”
Newsquest suffered a 36.9% year on year fall in advertising revenue in the second quarter of 2009.
However, it said that June was its strongest month since the start of the advertising slump.
