Newsworks appoints Liz Jaques as communications manager

Newsworks has appointed former MediaTel Newsline editor Liz Jaques as communications manager.

Jaques, who started Monday 8 October in the newly-created role, will be responsible for sourcing and writing copy for the website, e-newsletters and social media channels, managing day-to-day website content and engaging with users in the social media environment.

In her role at MediaTel, Jaques edited content and offered authoratitive comment on sectors including newspapers, marketing, mobile and technology.

Rufus Olins, CEO of Newsworks, said: “Since the relaunch to Newsworks in May, our goal has been to promote newsbrands in all their forms. It’s not just about printed newspapers anymore. I am very pleased Liz will be joining us as she has a wealth of knowledge in online content creation that will help Newsworks to address the changing face of the newspaper industry.”
