NME Radio Launches Cross Media Ad Deals

NME Radio, the recently launched joint venture between IPC Ignite and Virgin Radio, is to offer cross media packages to advertisers allowing them combine radio campaigns with online banner and print ads.

Advertisers who buy air time on the online radio station will be able to purchase banner ads on NME.com, which will flash up on the site when their ad is played via the live radio stream. They will also be able to buy ads in NME magazine for a full cross media campaign.

The station, launched earlier this month (see IPC Ignite To Launch NME Radio), plans to attract advertisers who currently purchase air time on XFM, Kiss and Galaxy and is offering packages guaranteed to target up to half a million adults or a core audience of 300,000 16-24 year olds. Campaigns will run until the specified number of impacts have been reached.

Virgin Radio’s group enterprises director, Steve Taylor, said: “The beauty of the internet, much like radio, is that we can measure campaigns as they actually happen. The size of a campaign will depend on the number of impacts an advertiser buys, and depending on how many people visit the site a campaign may run for a long or relatively short amount of time.”

Vodafone, Kit-Kat, Red Bull and Admiral Insurance have already taken advantage of the cross media deals which will run on both NME.com and virginradio.co.uk.
