Nokia has launched a new TV and online marketing campaign to push its flagship mobile phone handset, the N96, which is set to be the first mobile to feature BBC’s iPlayer.
Earlier this month, the BBC and Nokia signed a deal to feature the iPlayer as an application on the Nokia N96 handset, allowing users to stream or download their favourite TV and radio programmes via Wi-Fi or 3G for free (see BBC iPlayer And Nokia Team Up In New Mobile Deal).
The new Lowe London campaign is set to focus on the mobile’s advanced applications, five-megapixel camera, gaming and video facilities.
Will Harris, marketing director, said: “We are trying not to do a bit of marketing everywhere, instead we will have a large TV and online presence.”
Harris said the campaign will be “dark, moody and potent,” similar to the other Nseries marketing.
The new model in the Nseries range will feature live TV, 16GB memory, voice guided satellite navigation and a 2.8″ display, as well as storage for up to 40 hours of video content transferred from a PC.
Nokia’s latest marketing push comes just a week after it unveiled a new entertainment and lifestyle TV channel, Capsule N96, to promote the new phone (see Nokia Launches New Mobile TV Channel).
