OMDtvi Launches First Interactive Car Showroom

OMDtvi opened the doors of the world’s first virtual showroom this week as part of its biggest ever interactive television campaign to showcase the new Peugeot 407 saloon car.

The campaign will run across IDS channels on Sky Digital and ITV2. Banners in Sky Active will also encourage viewers to visit a dedicated advertiser location (DAL), where they will be able to select from a range of specially made videos in the virtual showroom.

In addition to typical iTV fare, viewers are also able to request a brochure or a test drive direct from the advertisement in what is OMDtvi’s third interactive campaign for the French car manufacturer.

Commenting on the campaign, Dean Drew, advertising director at Peugeot, said: “Interactive television really works for us and we have had great results with our previous 206 and 307 campaigns. These learnings have prompted us to widen the extent of our use of iTV with this full-scale DAL.”.

Toby Hack, head of interactive at OMDtvi, added: “With each iTV campaign for Peugeot we increase the scale and level of interactivity. We want to deliver a deeper viewer experience. At each stage, we have maximised the learning, and moved on to the next level. This strategy allows us to experiment with both the technology and the media to deliver the optimum mix for Peugeot.”

Sky recently announced an extension of its interactive advertising portfolio, offering advertisers the chance to buy interactive space on The History Channel and The Biography Channel. The broadcaster has also attempted to boost the growth of the medium with a £250,000 jackpot prize being offered to the creators of the most innovative and imaginative interactive advertisement (see Sky Boosts iTV Advertising With £250k Prize).
