Omnicom Sees Strong International Revenues In H1

Global advertising network, Omnicom, today posted a second quarter increase in worldwide revenues of 12.2%, with the strongest growth coming from outside the US. The group said that US revenues rose by 6% to $1.2 billion, whilst international growth was 21% to $967.2 million.

This presents a slightly different picture to most recent commentary, which has highlighted an improving advertising market in the US, with weaker trading elsewhere, particularly in Europe (see INSIGHTanalysis: Media Healthcheck – June 2003).

Across the whole of the first half of the year, worldwide revenues rose by 12% to $4.1 billion. Within this, US growth was 7% to $2.3 billion and international rose by 20% to $1.8 billion.

Omnicom’s agencies include BBDO Worldwide, TBWA, OMD Worldwide and PHD Network.
