According to a new report from ECommera, only 13.6% of UK online shoppers would go directly to a brand’s website.
By comparison, 42% would buy from an aggregated online retailer that offers a choice of brands, such as Amazon.
29% of respondents said that they didn’t mind which website they used.
15.4% said that they would visit an online store that had a high street presence.
The survey also asked online consumers to choose two factors that most influenced their decision to shop at a particular website.
7 out of 10 respondents said that a recommendation from family or friends would be one of the key factors.
46% of people said that the brand’s high street presence was one of the two most influential factors, while 35% chose finding websites through Google search.
Only 21% said advertising would be one of the top two key factors in influencing decisions to shop at a particular website.
ECommera interviewed two thousand online consumers in a UK sample.
