Outdoor Breaks 10% Revenue Share Barrier

Billboard New research from the Outdoor Advertising Association reveals that outdoor advertising has broken through the 10% revenue share barrier for the first time during Q3 2006.

Outdoor experienced its slowest growth since 2002 during April to June, although figures just released for for the third quarter of the year show a recovery, with an increase from £223.3 million to £231.9 million.

Outdoor now has 10.4% share of the market, compared to TV with 39.7% and national newspapers with 14.6%.

Alan James, chief executive of the OAA, said: “This is a great figure. Outdoor is clearly moving up a pace and with more exciting communication opportunities coming from digital screens next year we are anticipating real growth in the medium.”
