Peter Duffy to become new ISBA President

The CEO of Just Eat and CEO designate of Moneysupermarket has been appointed as the new president of ISBA, the industry trade body representing UK advertisers – taking over from Boots’ Elizabeth Fagan.

Peter Duffy joined Just Eat in 2018 as chief customer officer, before being promoted to CEO in 2019. According to ISBA, in his time at the takeaway food business he has delivered record revenue and profits, and most recently oversaw the £6bn combination of the business with Takeaway.com.

Prior to Just Eat, Duffy held senior marketing roles at brands including easyJet, Audi UK and Barclays Bank.

“I am delighted to be able to support Phil [Smith, director general] and the team at ISBA,” Duffy said.

“I have been impressed with how ISBA has been championing positive change in the industry and am looking forward to working with its members to continue this important work.”

According to ISBA, Duffy’s appointment is “significant” as the marketing and advertising industry adapts to the challenges of Covid-19, bringing with him experience from digitally-led businesses across multiple industries.

Commenting on the news, ISBA’s Smith added: “There’s never been a time when there have been more challenges and opportunities for our sector.

“Peter’s track record makes him uniquely qualified to help us provide the leadership and effective representation that advertisers need.”

Duffy succeeds Elizabeth Fagan, the former managing director and non-executive chair of Boots UK and Ireland.

Fagan said she was “delighted” to pass the role on to Duffy, who will continue ISBA’s work to create an advertising environment “that delivers positive social and economic impact”.

“At this time the support and leadership that members provide to ISBA and that ISBA provides to its members is contributing significantly to the rebuilding of trust in advertising. I wish Peter and all the ISBA Executive and members continued success on their transformation,” she added.
