PRWeek announces ‘landmark’ relaunch as it goes monthly

In what is being described as a ‘landmark’ relaunch, PRWeek is preparing the biggest overhaul in its 25-year history as it prepares to turn into a monthly magazine.

Set to launch on Wednesday 9 October, the first issue of the new magazine will offer “in-depth features, expert opinion and authoritative analysis”, alongside a new look website.

Despite the new edition, readers can expect weekly digital products to launch shortly afterwards, while an app is set to become available in November.

PRWeek’s brand editor, Ruth Wyatt, has said that the magazine will continue to deliver all the elements that readers say they need and want, as well as some surprises.

Group publishing director, George Buckingham, said: “PRWeek is the key source of information for people who work in public relations and communications.

“The way our readers consume information has been transformed in the past ten years and we will ensure that PRWeek’s essential mix of news, views and in-depth knowledge is available to them wherever, whenever and however they want it.”

In 2001, the magazine recorded a circulation figure of almost 18,500, however since then has seen a steady year-on-year decline, and last year the figure was recorded at just over 11,600 according to ABC.
