Publicis Confident And Cautious After Organic Growth

France-based Publicis Groupe has announced that organic revenue climbed by nearly 5% during the third quarter of this year, as signs of recovery were confirmed in Europe, which outstripped growth in North America during the period.

The company, which owns Saatchi & Saatchi and ZenithOptimedia, said that revenue from July to September reached €932 million year-on-year, as organic revenue grew 4.8%, taking total revenue for the nine months to 30 September to €2,779 million.

According to this morning’s statement, advertising spending continued to show a healthy rise in North America, which grew by 3.1%, while signs of recovery were confirmed in all other regions, in particular in Europe, which saw growth ahead of North America at 3.5%. Overall, Latin America grew the fastest during the three month period, up by 14.4% year-on-year, followed by Asia Pacific which rose by 10.7%.

Publicis Groupe chairman, Maurice Levy, said: “The world market remains firm, with growth continuing at a satisfactory pace. As we anticipated, growth is picking up in Europe to offset somewhere slower growth in North America, while growth in Asia remains satisfactory.

Publicis claims to be quietly confident about results in the forth quarter. Looking forward, Levy said: “Our position today makes us both very confident and very cautious, given the recurrent risk of adjustments to advertising and marketing spending at the close of the year.”
