RadioCentre Launches Regional Seminars

A Radio RadioCentre is launching a series of regional seminars, run by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), aimed at helping constituents “harness the power of radio in the digital age”.

The first event takes place today in Manchester at the Lowry Hotel, with around 150 commercial stations, advertisers, media planners and buyers from the media and creative sphere.

Key themes up for discussion at the events include: Radio 3.0 – The Third Age of Radio; Using Radio as Media Mix to drive ROI; Achieving Effective Creative in Radio; Sonic Branding.

Six members of the RAB team, including RadioCentre CEO, Andrew Harrison, will take part in the mini-roadshow.

Seminars are also going to be held in Edinburgh on May 22 and in Bristol. Dates in other regions will be announced later in the year.

Harrison said: “Following the successful re-launch of the RAB earlier in the year we want to ensure that we get out and about to support our members and advertisers in the regions.

“The digital age is bringing new opportunities and we want to make sure that all our members and radio advertisers in the regions outside London are in the best position to exploit these opportunities. Commercial radio offers vibrant and dynamic programming and there is great opportunity for advertisers to tap into that.”

Mark Barber, RAB planning director, added: “The new RAB is expanding its services to support radio advertisers and their agencies and the sessions will deliver both insight and practical support, including the very latest research into effective creativity, all aimed at helping radio advertisers achieve cost effective use of the medium”.

The RadioCentre re-launched the RAB in March in a bid to reinvigorate the industry and ‘activate radio in the digital age’ (see RAB Gets Reinvigorated For The Digital Age).
