Former Ofcom chief policy partner, Kip Meek, is set to become a non-executive director on the board of the RadioCentre.
Meek helped to set up Ofcom in 2003 and became chief policy officer in 2005, setting up an international group and chairing the European Regulators Group, which was made up of representatives from regulatory bodies across Europe.
He recently joined the board of specialist investment group Ingenious Media and is the non-executive chairman of the Broadband Stakeholder Group.
Meek’s appointment to the RadioCentre board follows the hiring of Martina King as chair of the Radio Advertising Bureau (see Martina King Appointed RAB Chairman). King is also a non-executive director of the RadioCentre.
Fellow RadioCentre board members include Ralph Bernard, chief executive of GCap Media; Emap’s Dee Ford; Phil Riley from Chrysalis; Scott Taunton at UTV; GMG Radio head John Myers; Michael Betton at Lincs FM and Tindle Radio’s Kevin Stewart.
The RadioCentre formed in July 2006 from the merger of the RAB and the Commercial Radio Companies Association (CRCA). Its members consist of the overwhelming majority of UK Commercial Radio stations who fund the organisation.
