Starting 1 May Mediatel readers will begin seeing a new type of advertising across the news section of the platform.

To continue delivering our editorial content in an environment we believe provides the best reading experience while helping to keep our platform open and free, we have partnered with Rezonence, deploying its FreeWall® technology.

FreeWall harnesses engagement and builds a new value proposition for publishers, their audience and advertisers. The tech loads in-stream, part way into an article – and to ‘unlock’ an article, readers simply answer a question about the ad, with a single click.

Once answered, the remaining content is immediately revealed – plus the technology is frequency capped to ensure the engagement really means something and the reading experience is not jeopardised. In short, you won’t have to do it for every article.

FreeWall is essentially a micropayments solution which has long been considered the holy grail for monetising content.
