Confused.com have produced an infographic that pulls together various data regarding consumer’s second screen habits.

The graph highlights that people are more likely to second screen in the US than in the UK – 86% of American tablet owners use their device while watching TV, compared to 78% in the UK. US owners of smartphones also second screen more frequently, with 27% of those multi tasking several times a day.

The graph also suggests that certain TV genres lend themselves better to social media. 56% of social media users post about comedy shows while watching them, compared to the 26% who post while watching news channels.

The data suggests that our attention is becoming increasingly divided with 62% of people claiming they use social networks or forums while watching TV on a weekly basis. This has risen by 18% year on year.
