Chrysalis-owned Rivals Digital Media has formed a marketing partnership with PlayboyTV that will see Rivals.net sponsor two of the adult channel’s programmes.
From today Rivals.net branded credits and break bumpers will appear during PlayboyTV’s Session Pravda and UK Centrefolds programmes, both of which are targeted at ABC1 football fans aged between 15 and 45. UK Centerfolds will be show eight times over the next four weeks and Session Pravda begins a 13 week series this month.
As part of the deal, Rivals.net will also receive branding on all PlayboyTV advertising in the Daily Sport during June and the site’s users will be given access to a tailored webpage featuring content from the Playboy TV website.
In return, PlayboyTV will be promoted across Rivals Digital Media’s portfolio of sports sites, with hard links, banner ads, buttons and towers appearing on Rivals.net, Football365.com, Planet Rugby.com, Planet-F1.com and Cricket365.com.
Commenting on the deal, Chris Reed, marketing director at Rivals Digital Media, said: “Rivals’ user base is heavily skewed towards ABC1 males, so a tie up with PlayboyTV fitted perfectly. Football and sex are perfect bedfellows. The partnership we have agreed extends our offering to our users, providing them with PlayboyTV content accessible via a secure service, while simultaneously extending brand awareness of Rivals.net to PlayboyTV’s offline audience.”
Rivals has secured a number of marketing partnerships recently. Last week the group agreed to provide content for radio website provider FM Interactive (see Rivals Lines Up World Cup Content Deals) and earlier in the month the online sports network signed a six-figure advertising deal with Wireless Group-owned TalkSPORT to sponsor its Sunday Morning Sports Breakfast Show throughout the World Cup (see TalkSPORT Listeners To Wake Up With Rivals).
