Scottish Radio Holdings (SRH) has agreed to buy the Longford Leader Group, which publishes the Longford Leader in the Republic of Ireland, for approximately E9.1 million (£5.6 million), the group has announced.
The Longford Leader was established in 1897 and is a weekly paid-for newspaper serving the counties of Longford, Cavan, Leitrim, Westmeath and Roscommon.
It is expected that the acquisition will be immediately earnings enhancing to SRH. Longford Leader Group will be run as part of SRH’s Score Press division.
