Senior Americans Not Interested In The Internet

Most Americans aged 65 and over do not use the internet and have no interest in learning about it, according to a report issued by The Pew Internet & American Life Project.

The study shows that seniors know very few people who use websites or send emails and they cannot imagine why they would spend time or money learning how to use a computer.

The survey, conducted in February 2004, revealed that only 22% of Americans aged over 65 have access to the internet, although this has increased from 15% in 2000. It also found that of those senior who are online, 94% use the web to keep in touch with their friends and family via email.
