Setanta has slashed its subscription charge to just £3.33 a month in a bid to keep customers over the summer period.
The sports broadcaster is set to offer existing subscribers live sports for just £9.99 for three months, a significant reduction on Setanta’s normal rate of £12.99 a month for satellite subscribers.
Setanta is thought to be offering the special package in an attempt to prevent current subscribers from cancelling their monthly payments during the summer months, which coincides with the end of the Premier League football season.
Its marketing activity, which includes direct mail offers, highlights the range of sport that Setanta will offer over the summer, such as the England World Cup qualifiers, World Championship boxing and the US PGA Tour in golf.
The latest deal from Setanta comes after the company’s recent appointment of a new senior management team, which is led by chairman Sir Robin Miller.
The new team has been set up to raise more funds from investors and restructure its contracts with rights holders, such as the Football Association and the Scottish Premier League.
