Shell Runs Campaign On Huge Imax Site In London

Imax Cinema Site Shell will take over Ocean Outdoor’s giant Imax cinema site in London’s Waterloo for the next two weeks, covering the complex in a huge wrap featuring the oil company’s running man.

The campaign focuses on movement and depicts the running man in various positions. Creative work is by JWT, with Mediacom the media agency and Posterscope the poster specialist.

The ad follows on from Nike’s large football banner, which occupied the space throughout June. An estimated 184,000 drivers cross the bridge each day, which coupled with its high visibility, makes the Imax spot an attractive advertising opportunity.

Grant Branfoot, sales director of Ocean, said: “With Nike and now Shell snapping up this landmark site, the Imax is building a big reputation with major advertisers looking for outstanding branding and awareness.”

In the past few months Ocean has added to its now 30-stronng portfolio of sites, with an aim to giving advertisers access to London’s commuters. The company won the contract for the cinema complex earlier this year (see Ocean Bags Imax For Giant Waterloo Site).
