Sizmek’s Shirley Smith joins Wayve

Multi-screen advertising platform Wayve has appointed Sizmek’s Shirley Smith as commercial director.

Heading up the sales and new business team, Smith will be responsible for wayve’s global commercial strategy, delivering client and revenue growth in both existing and new markets.

She will also manage and build the company’s client portfolio, which includes the Financial Times, the Economist, News UK and Business Insider.

“Since launching in 2013, we have established ourselves as a unique proposition in the UK digital advertising ecosystem; changing the way publishers currently sell their cross-channel inventory,” said CEO and founder, Jamie Evans-Parker.

“In the next phase of our growth, we will focus on translating that success into the key global digital advertising markets.

“Shirley’s deep understanding of the landscape, extensive network of contacts and proven track record of delivering complex projects and commercial success for global businesses will make her an extremely valuable asset as we pursue our ambitious growth plans.”

Smith has over 19 years’ commercial experience across leading digital, technology and creative businesses, most recently as Sizmek’s UK sales director. Shirley has extensive expertise in selling complex product suites to agencies, brands and publishers and exceeding revenue targets.

Commenting on her appointment, Smith said: “wayve is changing how the advertising industry looks at creative and media, making them one of the digital industry’s most exciting players.

“I am delighted to be joining the team and look forward to using my experience to support the next crucial stage of wayve’s development.”
