Sky Gets New Movie Boss

Sky Box Ian Lewis, director of broadcasting at BSkyB, has been promoted to the position of director of Sky Movies and Sky Box Office.

Lewis replaces Sophie Turner Laing, who last month was made managing director of entertainment (see Sky Gets New Entertainment MD).

Lewis will now be responsible for Sky’s new genre-defined subscription movie channels (see BSkyB Makes Movie And Broadband Announcements), as well as Sky Box Office, the sattelite broadcaster’s pay-per view offering.

Lewis joined Sky in 1999 as head of promotion strategy before becoming director of schedules and prmotion in 2002.

In his new role he will report into Turner Laing.
