The new series of Spooks continued to entice viewers to BBC One, with last night’s episode of the MI5 drama series attracting an average adult audience of almost 5.5 million in the 9pm to 10pm timeslot.
The programme, which saw the team discovering that the US manipulated Britain, leading Ros once again on the path to becoming a traitor, gave the channel a 25.4% viewing share at the time, with Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares on Channel 4 the show’s nearest competitor.
More than 3.5 million adults on average tuned in to see the return of the foul-mouthed chef, as he lent his restaurant running skills to the latest batch of entrepreneurs, giving C4 a 16.3% share.
Over on Five, CSI: Miami was seen by more than 2.5 million on average, equating to an 11.6% share. CSI: NY followed on the channel, gaining an average adult audience of 1.7 million (10.6%).
Earlier, Holby City was the most popular programme in the 8pm to 9pm timeslot, with an average adult audience of almost 6.1 million, a 28.4% share for BBC One.
Over on ITV1, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? drew 3.7 million (17.3%), whilst the return of Property Ladder on Channel 4 was enjoyed by almost 2.8 million (13%).
EastEnders performed well for BBC One between 7.30pm and 8pm, with 8.8 million (44.4%) watching as Stacey and Max’s affair became clear to Sean on the eve of his sister’s marriage to Bradley.
