Sportsman Not Submitting ABC Circulations

Sportsman Logo The Sportsman newspaper will not be submitting its circulation to an ABC audit this month, according to reports in the Guardian.

The withdrawal from the audit apparently came about because its circulation results were inconsistent as a result of switching distributors six weeks ago.

The Sportsman was scheduled to report an ABC figure of 23,500 copies for June, up on its May circulation of 22,333, but still some way short of its long-term break-even target of 40,000.

Two executives have left the paper since its launch. Max Aitkin, the managing director and co-founder of the Sportsman, left the paper just three months after it was launched in March. Matt Dixon, the paper’s marketing director, left in early May to set up his own sports marketing agency.
