Future publishing, the UK’s sixth largest magazine publisher, has appointed Stevie Spring as its new chief executive.
Spring, the former Young & Rubicam MD, will replace Greg Ingham, who has been in the role for seven years.
The job is Spring’s first foray into publishing and first role at the helm of a listed company. Her appointment will be announced today together with Future’s six-month results.
The company is expected to announce a drop in its half-year pre-tax profits of 70% year on year, giving Spring a difficult start to her new job.
The group, which is based in Bath, publishes more than 150 magazines in the UK, Italy and France. It has been hit by changing fortunes in the computer games and performance car markets, where it is a major player.
Future is set to announce details of a tie-up with a major media partner for a music, film and television website, and is to launch a women’s poker magazine next month.
