Starcom’s UK managing director, Hamid Habib, has left the Publicis business after 18 months in the role.
Previously chief strategy and innovation officer at Omnicom’s OMD, Habib was appointed as the Starcom UK boss in January 2018. No reason was given for the departure.
Consequently, Nadine Young has been promoted to fill his shoes, but will continue to lead the P&G One team while taking on a broadened remit with additional responsibilities across Starcom.
Young, who will report to Mark Howley – now confirmed as Starcom UK’s CEO – originally joined the agency in 2016 to lead the P&G business having joined from sister agency Blue 449, where she was global head of strategy.
“Nadine has a proven track record of inspiring teams and driving an innovative and transformational agenda for clients at the very highest level,” said Howley, who is also chief operating officer Publicis Media UK.
“She is a great addition to the management team and will work alongside me to deliver growth and future success for this fantastic agency and our clients.”
Howley added: “I would like to thank Hamid and we wish him well for the future.”
