Strictly Come Dancing Floors X Factor In Saturday Showdown

Strictly Come Dancing BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing proved its appeal on Saturday, with average adult viewers totaling 6.9 million, trouncing ITV’s average of 6.2 million for the X Factor talent contest.

The BBC’s ratings win was cemented later in the night, with 7.1 million adult viewers tuning in to hospital drama Casualty, going head to head with ITV’s X Factor result, which drew 6.2 million on average.

Elsewhere, new BBC sitcom Carrie and Barrie proved the low point of BBC One’s Saturday schedule, drawing 2.8 million against ITV’s Parkinson with 5.9 million on average.

Five saw its evening’s viewing peak with detective drama CSI, drawing 1.9 million, while Channel 4’s film The Gift provided the highest ratings of the night, at 1.8 million on average.
