SUBtv Signed For Faithless Music Promotion

Student TV network, SUBtv, has been appointed by Sony BMG to promote the new greatest hits album by long-running dance music outfit Faithless, celebrating the band’s 10 year career through a unique content-based sponsorship package.

The Forever Faithless Artist Week will comprise exclusive coverage and an on screen SMS-based competition, and which will be promoted to the UK’s university population through SUBtv’s network of plasma screens.

Together SUBtv and Sony BMG have structured a programming strand which includes national playout of the videos of the past ten Faithless hits, as well as an exclusive interview with Faithless band member Sister Bliss, recorded at her home.

The content will appear on the SUBtv network, reaching 1.2 million students in 67 universities across the UK. The coverage will also offer students a VIP trip for two to Argentina through an SMS competition.

The deal was made possible by Faithless’ label management team, providing videos of ten of the band’s biggest hits to SUBtv to play, and providing access to their artist Sister Bliss. SUBtv produced all the branded idents, the interview and the competition mechanic to support the promotion.

Commenting on the promotion, Jason Barrett of SUBtv said: “The Forever Faithless project is a good example of how media owners and clients can work closely to create something unique and really stretch a brief. This type of promotion creates very strong communication with the students as it both entertains and informs them while offering the chance to win a great prize all within the cosy confines of the student union.”

SUBtv recently recently signed Welsh beer brand, Brains, as the sponsor of this year’s 6 Nations rugby championship. The deal will see Brains enjoy a package comprising of two stages, live matches and rugby programming, and will be broadcast on the SUBtv screen network in universities (see Brains Beer To Advertise With SUBtv).
