TalkTalk’s latest interim management statement reveals that the company added 175,000 TV customers in the third quarter, taking its total customer base to 732,000.
In the same period, TalkTalk added 24,000 new mobile customers (totalling 260,000) and 35,000 new fibre customers (totalling 177,000).
Total revenue was up 5.1% to £436 million, while data products revenues in TalkTalk Business experienced 49% growth year on year.
“We are delighted with the material step up in our revenue growth during the quarter, which shows the powerful effect of combining a modestly growing customer base, disciplined pricing and promotional activity, and strong new product growth particularly in TV,” said chief executive, Dido Harding.
“In TalkTalk Business, we saw a strong acceleration in data products growth and successfully migrated Post Office customers onto our network. As a result this has been another quarter of successfully delivering against our objectives; we are confident that we are building a business with strong and sustainable revenue momentum and growing profitability.”
Harding added that TalkTalk is on track to deliver medium term targets of 4% revenue CAGR (compound annual growth rate) between 2014 and 2017 and 25% earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation by 2017.
In a separate announcement, TalkTalk confirmed that it is to extend its partnership with Sky, that will see Sky’s content distributed to TalkTalk’s pay TV homes for another three years.
