Telegraph Media Group appoints Yahoo’s Nick Hugh as COO

The Telegraph Media Group, publisher of the Daily Telegraph, has announced the appointment of Nick Hugh as its first-ever chief operating officer.

Hugh joins from Yahoo where he has worked since 2008 in a range of senior roles and is currently vice president EMEA.

As part of his new role, Hugh will assume responsibility for all TMG’s revenue streams and commercial operations. He will be a member of the senior executive team, reporting to the chief executive, Murdoch MacLennan, and starting in early January.

“Nick has an excellent track record both with high-growth businesses and creating thriving teams,” said MacLennan. “We’re delighted he is joining our leadership team and will be continuing our digital transformation.”

Nick Hugh added: “I am looking forward to working with Murdoch MacLennan and alongside a range of talented executives. The Telegraph is a well-respected, trusted and quality brand, with a great team in place.

“I’m excited to lead the commercial team to build further on the great success that TMG has already achieved.”
