Telegraph Partners With Tate Modern For Autumn Season

The Daily Telegraph has become Tate Modern’s autumn media partner in a deal that will see the paper support a number of exhibitions at the iconic contemporary art gallery.

The deal, which begins on 6 October and runs until 23 January next year, will see the Telegraph feature the exhibitions in its daily arts pages and the Saturday Arts + Books section. There will also be a range of in-paper promotions and competitions.

Commenting on the deal, Mark Dixon, marketing director at The Daily Telegraph, said: “Readers of The Daily Telegraph are extremely interested in culture and the arts so we are delighted to sponsor Tate Modern, a major gallery of modern and contemporary art, for its autumn season. We’re sure that both exhibitions will be popular with existing and potential readers.”

The sponsorship comes just weeks after The Daily Telegraph announced a deal to sponsor the Glyndebourne opera company’s production of La Bohčme by Puccini to support the relaunch of its Telegraph Box Office ticket service (see Telegraph Relaunches Box Office With Opera Sponsorship).

The latest ABC reuslts for the six months to August reveal a fairly lacklustre performance for The Daily Telegraph, which saw its circulation decline by 1.35% year on year to 912,112. All of the other broadsheet titles experienced decline during the same period, with the exception of the Independent, which rose by 17.1% to 259,965.
