With applications for shares in the Telegraph newspaper group set to close on Wednesday, Conrad Black has announced that plans for the group to invest in Channel 5 are to be dropped.
An interest in the new television station had previously been included, alongside the New York Daily News, as possible future investment for the company. However, on studying the channel, Black felt that it was no longer a feasible investment, with doubts being raised regarding the projected rate of return.
