The ITC has demanded that Teletext UK, the ITV teletext service which replaced Oracle at the beginning of the year, does more to improve the service it offers. Thousands of complaints have been lodged by viewers with regard to missing pages, insufficient news, religious and regional pages, plus the fact that the service has not been available on Channel 4 in the evenings.
This is the second occasion on which the ITC has voiced its concern about the quality of material being provided on the new service.
