Television Viewing Round-Up – November 2009

The latest TV viewing figures, for November 2009, show that Channel 4 recorded a 0.8 percentage point fall on November 2008.

BBC One and BBC Two were also down year on year.  However, ITV1 managed to record an increase.

Other channels also posted a rise in November.

All Viewing

BBC Two’s viewing share fell by 1.2 percentage points to 7.1% in November, which was the largest percentage point fall in the category.

BBC One, meanwhile, was down by 0.7 percentage points to 20.9%.  Channel 4 posted a similar fall of 0.8 percentage points, which takes it down to 6.2%.

Five remained static in November at 4.8%.

ITV1 bucked the trend with big ratings hits such as The X Factor and reported a 0.7 percentage point increase to 19.7%.

Other channels were up 2.2 percentage points year on year to 40.8%.

Digital Viewing

It was a more positive picture in digital homes, with BBC One, ITV1 and Five all seeing their viewing shares increase year on year.

BBC One and Five both posted a 0.1 percentage point increase, which takes them to 20.2% and 4.7% respectively.

ITV1, meanwhile, enjoyed a 1.0 percentage point rise to 19.2%.

However, Channel 4 and BBC Two did not do as well.  BBC Two was down 0.8 percentage points to 6.6%, while Channel 4 fell by 0.4 percentage points to 5.8%.

Other channels remained relatively static year on year at 43%.
