The Times Relaunches Website

Man On Internet The Times has relaunched its Times Online website with the aim of creating a “dynamic multimedia website centred on news plus views”.

News International is spending £10 million on the new-look website, which includes an online TV show on London neighbourhoods.

The site will also feature improved integration with the Times and the Sunday Times as well as an expansion of its world news coverage.

The revamped website will also feature more audio-visual content and include links on each webpage taking users to updates.

In a statement on the relaunch, the company said: “As well as a growing UK audience, Times Online has an expanding international readership, attracted by the newspapers’ reputation for news, views, expertise and outstanding quality journalism.

“The new site builds on its strength in reporting world issues such as global warming, the Middle East, US politics and international business with new multimedia content.”

In January NewsLine reported that the Press Complaints Commission had reached an agreement with publishers which will see it regulate audio-visual content on newspaper websites (see PCC To Widen Online Remit).
